OCCO Annual Printing Ink Symposium - Call for Papers
Please note new contact information for Darrin Colquhoun. Previous e-mails and voice messages should be resubmitted to his new address and telephone number respectively.
The Oil and Colour Chemists Organization (OCCO) of Ontario is proud to announce that the date of the Thirteenth Annual Printing Ink Symposium has been chosen as Saturday, March 28, 2009. (This date is not part of the March School Break.) As in previous years, this Symposium will be a full day event with topics on oil/paste ink and liquid/fluid ink subjects. We also invite other topics of interest such as regulatory, toxicity and environmental as it relates to technical issues.
We are putting out a Call for Papers, to any interested party, which deals with some technicalaspect of printing ink technology, either for oil/paste inks, liquid/fluid inks, digital or screen inks. Such a talk could cover topics such as formulating, manufacturing, new technology, raw materials, testing and test methods, troubleshooting, press or pre-press technology, etc. The paper should be about 25 minutes in length. We ask that any potential paper communicate some current, non-proprietary information about printing or printing ink technology. The paper may be one, which has been presented elsewhere. Due to the wide range of papers presented on antifoams and waxes in the past, a decision has been made to decline any submissions of papers on these topics for this year. We again had full attendance our last Symposium. Our event is an excellent way in which to showcase the technology of your company, or the companies that you represent.
If your Company, or one which you represent, would be interested in providing a speaker for our Symposium, we ask that you please respond to us at the address below by no later than December 30, 2008, with the speaker' name, Company and a brief synopsis of their topic. We would also appreciate knowing about any audiovisual requirements at that time. We are very excited about undertaking this project once again and we would very much value the assistance of your Company. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at your earliest convenience.
